In 1922, American airmen introduced the sport of volleyball to Italy. The sport has spread throughout the country in popularity, and it may soon become the main sport for Italian women. With a variety of leagues and Serie A through Serie D competition, Italy is an ideal spot for all volleyball competitors.

Beach volleyball is also important to Italian sports culture. With Italy's beautiful coast, they have plenty of sand to practice on. A volleyball tour of Italy may include indoor volleyball games against local competition and beach volleyball games against local clubs, amateur, or professional teams.

Italy's history, beauty, culture, and passion for volleyball make it an ideal destination for a team to compete and explore. The ancient city of Rome could entertain guests for weeks in order to see all of the monuments, museums, and ruins that the city has to offer. To name a few, the PantheonSt. Peter's Basilica and  the Vatican, the Roman Forum, the Piazza del Popolo, and the Colosseum could all fill up a few days in the world-renowned city. A visit to Italy could easily expand out of Rome and take you to destinations such as the charming countryside of Tuscany or the winding canals of Venice. Ideal for volleyball competition and perfect for a vacation, a trip to Italy is a guaranteed memorable experience.
