Basketball in England
Basketball still remains a minor sport in England when related to football (soccer), rugby, and cricket. The top level league is the British Basketball League consisting of 12 teams. The English Basketball League and the Scottish Basketball League make up the second-tier level leagues.
The British Basketball League looks to continue its expansion and are projecting to add three additional teams for the 2014-15 upcoming season. About six other teams are looking to enter as expansion teams in the near future as well. So while the UK may not be a basketball leader in Europe, there is no denying its determination for growth.
